Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I know if I need custom insoles or shoes or sandals?

Custom insoles comprise the key element that helps you get foot pain relief and pain relief in the ankle and knee. The insoles work under your foot’s plantar surface or the sole to provide customized support and this brings pain relief. Custom insoles are to be placed inside your shoes, replacing your shoe insoles. If you do not wear shoes often and usually wear sandals or slippers, then you should go for custom sandals, where the custom insoles are used as footbeds (or the base) in the footwear on which you feet rest. Custom shoes are needed when you have a deformity such as Leg Length Discrepancy (LLD), severely pronated foot or a foot drop that needs your shoes to be made stiff to control your foot movements, or when you need shoes that are wide enough for your feet. The shoe is the body and the insole is the soul!

Can my custom insoles be used in multiple shoes?

Absolutely! Your insoles are not glued to the shoes and can be freely switched between multiple pairs of shoes, provided the shoes have similar profiles.

How long do custom insoles last?

It depends on the duration of their usage and the activity they’re used for (shorter life when used for sports). Podiapro’s non-sports insoles last for 12 to 15 months when used all day, every day. Our sports orthotics for athletes who play professionally and are in their game for about 4 to 6 hours a day will last for 6 to 8 months.

Will I have to use custom insoles forever?

It depends on your condition and age. Some conditions of inflammation don’t need long term use of custom shoe inserts. On the contrary, custom shoe inserts for knee pain relief might be needed permanently if the patient is a senior. If you supplement your insoles with a disciplined routine of foot and ankle exercises, you might be able get rid of the need to use insoles.
